Fundraising Commitment

Racers who submit the pre-lottery registration between October 17th - November 16th will have a $1,250 fundraising minimum. Between November 16th and December 6th, the 2023 application will be closed for pre-lottery.

On December 7th the application will re-open for post-lottery entrance into the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and the fundraising minimum will increase to $1,750.

If a Racing Team member withdraws from the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon at any time and has not completed the agreed-upon fundraising minimum that corresponds to his/her/their date of registration, he/she/they are responsible for covering the difference between the published minimum, either $1,250 or $1,750, and funds raised at the date of departure from the Racing Team.

I pledge to raise a minimum of $1,250 (if registered by November 16, 2023) or $1,750 (if registered after November 16, 2023) by October 31, 2024 for Big Shoulders Fund.

Waiver and Commitment Information

Waiver and Release of Liability

I acknowledge that I have voluntarily agreed to participate as a Big Shoulders Fund Racing Team member in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. I agree that I and/or my heirs, guardians, legal representatives, successors, distributees, and assignees will not make a claim against, sue, attach the property of, or prosecute Big Shoulders Fund or any of its affiliated organizations, staff, Board, or agents for any losses, injury, death or property damage occurring to me as a result of my participation (either directly or indirectly) in any of the activities related to training and running with the Big Shoulders Fund Racing Team whether caused by the negligence of Big Shoulders Fund, or otherwise. I have carefully read this Waiver and Commitment Form and fully understand and accept its contents.

Injury Clause

If I have already raised funds exceeding $625, all such proceeds (raised in the name of Big Shoulders Fund) shall remain with Big Shoulders Fund.

If I have raised less than $625 by the time I declare I am unable to run in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Big Shoulders is authorized to invoice me for any shortfall (the difference between $625 and the funds raised) and I will remit payment for the balance due within 30 days of receipt.

This $625 will be used to offset the Big Shoulders Fund Racing Team expenses incurred by Big Shoulders Fund in conjunction with Big Shoulders Fund's participation in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Publicity Clause

If I am unable to run in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon because of injury, I will provide Big Shoulders Fund with a doctor's note no later than September 30, 2024, and accept responsibility for raising at least $625 for Big Shoulders Fund.

I grant a perpetual, royalty-free license to Big Shoulders Fund to use my name, image and/or likeness for the purpose of promoting the Big Shoulders Fund Racing Team in any manner worldwide - either in print material, radio or television broadcast or online, in any manner whether presently in existence or hereinafter developed.

Waiver and Commitment Confirmation

Yes, I understand and agree to the terms of the Waiver and Release of Liability for members of the Big Shoulders Fund Racing Team and 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Program.
